Full Plot Summary

The impoverished Kim family—father Ki-taek, mother Chung-sook, son Ki-woo, and daughter Ki-jung—live in a cramped semi-basement apartment. When Ki-woo is hired as a private English tutor for the wealthy Park family's daughter, an opportunity arises for the Kims to systematically secure jobs for all family members within the Park household, posing as unrelated, highly qualified domestic staff. Their plan seems flawless until an unexpected visitor to the Park house reveals a hidden, dangerous truth about the home and the economic chasm between the two families.
